Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible dedication and hard work of our teachers and staff at our End of the Year Celebration! Every achievement this year across the Scituate School Department is a direct result of their passion, perseverance, and commitment to our students. We are so proud and so grateful for all they do! We want to send a special congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Vanessa Mezzancella, and our Support Staff of the Year, Helen Dichiaro, who continue to go above and beyond for their students and for our school community. Thank you for all that you do!

6th grade students enjoyed a beautiful outdoor lunch a few weeks ago, and we were happy to see our students relaxing in the sunshine!

A huge thank you to our incredible Grade 6 team and all the parent chaperones for making the recent trip to the Museum of Science, Boston, such a resounding success! Students enjoyed an exciting, educational, and memorable experience! This trip was generously funded through parent donations, SMS PTO, and the Feinstein Foundation.

The grade 7 team, along with Mr. Brian Sheehan, our CTE Coordinator, visited the Submarine Force Museum earlier this month. Students had the opportunity to tour the USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear-powered submarine, and explore interactive exhibits at the museum. This educational visit exposed students to various career pathways in naval engineering, marine science, and military service while connecting to our classroom curriculum. The field trip was being funded by a CTE grant through the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), our SMS PTO, and the Feinstein Foundation!

The 6th and 7th grade enrichment classes took part in the annual Scituate Reservoir Poster Contest. This year's theme was Ephemeral Streams: The Stream Less Travelled. The winners from the middle school joined the Agricultural Club as leaders at the Water Festival put on last week by the Northern Rhode Island Conservation District, and helped out the third graders from Scituate and neighboring towns. Congratulations to the winner, Julia Bianco, and our two honorable mentions, Elsie Cheng and Paige Davis.

Congratulations to our middle school TSA club members who competed in their annual RI TSA State Conference!

Congratulations to our 7th grade chorus for placing second at the Middle School Choral Festival! The judges were particularly impressed to hear that they've only been singing together since September. Special thanks to Ms. Norton for pushing these young performers!

Do you have feedback for the Scituate School Department? We want to hear it!
This survey will take between 15-20 minutes to complete. When filling out this survey, you will ONLY fill out the parts that apply to you. For example, if you indicate that you have children at Clayville and at the middle school, you will only fill out those sections (and will not be shown the sections for the other schools).

Attention Scituate families! We are conducting a survey to find out from our families how you perceive the schools that your children attend.
In some ways, this overlaps with the Survey Works questionnaire, but it goes into more detail because, as a school department, we want to know from you what we're doing well and what we could do better!
This survey is anonymous and specifically designed for parents and guardians with students in our schools. The survey will be open for approximately two weeks and will close on Monday, April 21, 2025.
We hope you can take the time to give us this important feedback!
