Attention Scituate families! We are conducting a survey to find out from our families how you perceive the schools that your children attend. In some ways, this overlaps with the Survey Works questionnaire, but it goes into more detail because, as a school department, we want to know from you what we're doing well and what we could do better! This survey is anonymous and specifically designed for parents and guardians with students in our schools. The survey will be open for approximately two weeks and will close on Monday, April 21, 2025. You can start the pre-enrollment process online using our link! https://scituateschoolsri.powerschool.com/.../form.html. After completing the initial pre-enrollment information, you will receive an email within two business days that will include further instructions to complete the registration process. If you have any questions, please contact the registrar at registrar@scituateschoolsri.net. Kindergarten Orientation will be on Thursday, August 21st from 10-11 a.m. at your child's school.

Hope students in Mrs. Hanson's second grade class loved completing a science experiment to learn about erosions and landslides!

Alongside the Scituate Sustainability Committee, Hope Elementary has implemented a new food waste reduction program! Cafeteria rangers (our Grade 4 and 5 student council representatives) are assisting students with composting and recycling, in order to reduce waste heading to our landfills! Students were also lucky to learn more information to help us compost and recycle through a presentation from the RIRRC.

Students at Hope Elementary celebrated Valentine's Day by wearing their comfiest pajamas to school! The students got to celebrate with such a special reward because they raised over $600 in support of those affected by the California Wildfires. Thank you to our Hope families for such a huge turnout of support!

Believe it or not, Monday, February 10th was already our 100th day of school! Students at Hope Elementary celebrated by decorating 100th-day t-shirts that showcased their excitement for being 100 days smarter, sharper, and sweeter!

Congratulations to Hope students who earned positive office referrals in January! Students can receive these awards from faculty or staff members for EXEMPLARY behavior in the following categories: Growth Mindset, Problem Solving, Managing Emotions, Effort, Kindness, and Goal Setting!

Yesterday, Hope students had a special visit from New York Times Best Selling Author Marc Colagiovanni. Marc talked to students about how he came to be an Author and the importance of pursuing your dreams. Students were thrilled to have Marc read his books, "When Things Aren't Going Right, Go Left" and "The Reflection in Me." Thank you to the Hope PTA for coordinating this special visit for our students!

Hope students in Grades K-2 began a multi-week afterschool karate class thanks to an opportunity offered by North East Family Martial Arts! This program promotes physical fitness, character education, respect, focus, and increased confidence, along with lots of fun!

On January 31st, the Hope PTA sponsored a Build a Hope Husky Family Night! Families were invited to Hope to build a husky stuffed animal, watch a family video, drink hot cocoa, and eat delicious snacks! Hope had over 80 students participate, and there were smiles all around!

Hope students had a fabulous High Five Friday in January with the SHS Boys Basketball Team! Students loved getting to start their Fridays off with so much spirit! Thank you to SRO Sgt. Parenti for facilitating, and to the team for joining Hope students during this special event!

Hope Elementary second graders participated in a Mystery Science Material Magic unit in December! Students examined how large structures like houses are built from smaller pieces. In the activity, students worked together to design structures using an unconventional building material: paper! Students built towers, using 3 x 5“ index cards and paper clips. First, they built tall towers, then challenged themselves to build towers, strong enough to support a hardcover book.

Thank you to Mrs. Ethier and the Hope Elementary 4th and 5th grade chorus for a fun-filled holiday concert on the Thursday before break! We have such talented performers in our Hope community!
