"The thing that makes SHS special is all the opportunities available to students. Whether it is sports or field trips, there is quite a bit to offer."

William Polouski

Elementary School: North Scituate Elementary School

Post-High School Plans: After graduating high school I plan to attend URI to study Computer Science and Art.

Dream Job: Something in the computer science field because it's what I plan on studying in college. I also enjoy the problem-solving aspects of the field.

Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?: During my time at SHS, my favorite teacher was Mr. McGinn. He made Chemistry class interesting with labs and demonstrations. The personal touch he added with his stories and music was also fun. I enjoyed talking about things like music and concerts with him.

What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?:  My favorite class during my time at SHS was Portfolio Honors I with Ms. Feldman. I enjoyed this class so much because of the freedom I had with the projects. I was able to put my own twist on them using my own interests and preferred mediums. One particular project I enjoyed was one where I had to create a piece of art based off a song, which allowed me to incorporate my musical interests into the class.

What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?:  Advice I would give to next year's ninth grade is to not overload your schedule with hard classes. It's perfectly fine to challenge yourself, but don't stress about it too much.

What makes SHS special?: The thing that makes SHS special is all the opportunities available to students. Whether it is sports or field trips, there is quite a bit to offer.

What will you miss the most about SHS? : I will miss the faculty and teachers at Scituate High School that made my time here so interesting.
