
Scituate High School students interested in learning more about tech careers had the opportunity to visit the media center today and hear from professionals in the industry! Thank you to our guest speakers who took the time to share their experiences with our students.








Scituate Swim had a great meet at RIC this past weekend! Our 4 swimmers this week all each swam the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Junior Max Jackson came in at 33:23 and 1:15:30, respectively. Senior Tristan Redmond came in at 31:22 and 1:17:26, and Senior Ella Bard swam a 30:20 and 1:06:57. Sophomore Ella Bowden continues to PR with her 50 free at 34:78 and came in at 1:19:56 for her 100 free! Spartans have their last independent meet of the season at RIC on Saturday, February 1st at 11:30am.

Sophomore Bryce Guilmain, has broken two school records during the 2024/25 Indoor Track & Field season. He now owns the record for weight throw, with a throw of 39–3, and shot put, with a throw of 34–4. He looks to improve on both as the season comes to a close over the course of the next few weeks!


SHS students in the Working With Children class are writing and illustrating children's books and creating a puzzle to help tell their story. These stories will be read to elementary school students!

Scituate Spartans Girls Wrestling had an amazing performance at the Central Falls Girls Invite! The Spartans finished 2nd overall with a strong total of 60.5 points!

Recording artist Matt Nathanson joined Mrs. Stormont's AP Literature classes last week to respond to student analysis of his song lyrics. In giving feedback, Matt talked about seeking truth, the ability to hold conflicting emotions and ideas, making sure to notice everyday wonders and the impact of connecting with people. Special thanks to Matt for taking the time to talk with students in the midst of releasing new songs and preparing for a national tour that begins in February!


Congratulations to Norah Clarke, Haley Nickerson, Amy Glass, Carson Rinaldi, Santino Sentra, Jolene Cole, Matthew Buxton, Matthew Suk, and Vincent Frenier on being nominated for a “Student Spartan Award.”
Students are recognized by teachers and staff for their involvement with something positive for the school culture and community. The Scituate Swim Team visited Clayville Elementary last week for a special High-Five Friday visit! Elementary and high school students love starting their mornings with high-fives and smiles!






Congratulations to the Scituate Spartans High School Wrestling Team, who swept the competition at the 44th Michael J. Baker Classic over the weekend and took home 1st place overall!






The Scituate Spartan Lady Basketball Team has been on fire this season! Our lady Spartans played an impressive game last week, resulting in a 49-36 victory over Cumberland!




Congratulations to the Scituate Wrestlers who competed at the Chad Antoch Memorial Tournament!

The high school band and chorus visited North Scituate Elementary for High Five Friday and put on a concert for elementary students before the winter break! All students gathered in the gymnasium to listen to the band play some holiday tunes and sang along with the chorus.


The Scituate Varsity Wrestling team brought home the 2024 Joe Capone Invitational Championship, dominating against 25 teams!
Here are the Varsity placement results:
Scott Cole and Captain Robbie Newton took 1st place!
Aidan Baker, Captain Chuck Grover, Captain Rocco Simone, and Captain Jackson Bowden secured 3rd place!
Captain Drake Dumont placed 4th!
Chloe Ross and Michael Cuoco finished in 5th place!
Aiden Grover earned 6th place!

Spartan Girls Wrestling Highlights
Our amazing Girls Wrestling Team secured an impressive 2nd place finish out of 12 teams at the 2024 Joe Capone Invitational!
A huge shoutout to Captain Kate Egan, who pinned her way to 1st place and was awarded Outstanding Wrestler for the Girls Division!

Abigail Otte and Faith Dumont both earned 2nd place with outstanding matches!
Congratulations to all of our female athletes for their hard work and determination. You continue to make us proud!


During the SHS Winter Spirit Week, we held our first-ever winter door decorating competition! Our winners were the students from Mr. Goffe's advisory class, and once we return from our winter break, they will get a pizza party to reward them for their creativity. We were VERY impressed with all of the door decorations! Great job Spartans!
