Students in US History II have been studying the Cold War. Students used dominoes to illustrate the Domino Theory that suggests that once a country falls to Communism, more will follow.

Students in US History II Honors made their teacher extremely proud when they held an empathetic and professional interview with Rena Quint, Holocaust Survivor, and author of “A Daughter of Many Mothers”.
This journey began with an in-depth reading of her autobiography. Students responded to high-level reading comprehension and critical thinking questions surrounding Rena’s gripping life story. The culminating activity happened last week when students were able to talk to Rena Quint directly from her home in Jerusalem, Israel via Zoom.
Topics discussed included the Holocaust, Holocaust denial, perseverance, resilience, the ongoing conflict with Gaza, and her formal meeting with President Joe Biden two summers ago. Students were inspired by her resilience and willingness to open up and communicate with them about her experiences and life in general.

Ms. Mancini's 8th graders did a slope scavenger hunt last week. Students found slope or rate of change from tables, graphs, and equations

In 7th grade social studies, Mr. Dunne's students are writing an essay answering the question: How did the events between 1763 and 1776 transform the Colonists from loyal subjects into patriots ready for revolution?
Part of the revision process involved using AI to give feedback on their essays. Magicschool.AI gives each student grade-appropriate feedback on what they did well, what they can improve on, and feedback on their writing mechanics. Mr. Dunne can't be everywhere at once, but using AI can help students identify writing needs!

Foreign and Regional Foods students have been preparing Mexican cuisine including empanadas and sopapillas. Students did a great job making the dough from scratch!
