Hope students in Mrs. Hanson's second grade class loved completing a science experiment to learn about erosions and landslides!
7th grade science students worked with partners to choreograph dance moves that represent molecules’ freedom of movement in each of the 3 states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Such a fun activity!
Students in Mrs. Stormont's AP Literature class practiced writing thesis statements and supplying evidence for essay topics based on Frankenstein. They assembled their written responses into a to-scale creature!
Alongside the Scituate Sustainability Committee, Hope Elementary has implemented a new food waste reduction program! Cafeteria rangers (our Grade 4 and 5 student council representatives) are assisting students with composting and recycling, in order to reduce waste heading to our landfills! Students were also lucky to learn more information to help us compost and recycle through a presentation from the RIRRC.
Kindergarteners at North Scituate Elementary had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school! Students dressed up and played math games with numbers up to 100.
6th graders have been working on their ancient Greece king project! Students learned about the development of democracy in ancient Athens and, researched various kings in ancient Greece, and their accomplishments, and compared their rule to our way of government in the United States.
Unified Basketball took on the RI School for the Deaf this week. Cole Munns, Jacob Flanagan, and Antonio Diraimo scored 3 pointers! Go Spartans!
Congratulations to 6th-grader Elliana Pagliarini who has won the Rhode Island State Spelling Bee for the second year in a row! She will represent Rhode Island at the 100th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., May 27-29.

Clayville Elementary's second grade students had a fun time last week, thanks to Ms. Forgue and her annual Starbooks Cafe event! Ms. Forgue purchased a variety of book sets from different authors and genres for students to "taste test" and then she took student drink orders and made them specialty drinks while they previewed their book choices.
Middle school students celebrated Read Across America Week with creativity and originality! Students decorated classroom doors with some of the characters and themes from their favorite books.
The 8th grade Honorable Mention winners were Mrs. Battey’s and Miss Mancini’s period 4 classes.
The 7th grade Honorable Mention winners were Mrs. Kennedy’s and Miss Tamboe’s period 4 classes.
The 6th grade Honorable Mention winners were Mrs. Santiago’s and Mrs. Clyde’s period 4 classes.
The overall winner of the door decorating contest is Miss McCarthy’s Period 4 class. The winner of the Spirit Week Participation contest is Mrs. Clyde’s Period 4 class. Congratulations to all!
The RI Track Coaches Association hosted an end of season banquet for the Indoor Track and Field season on Tuesday, March 4th at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. This event was a combined boys and girls banquet, celebrating all the amazing talent in our state.

Coaches Award" is typically given to an athlete who demonstrates exceptional qualities beyond just their performance on the track, including strong work ethic, positive attitude, leadership, commitment to the team, and sportsmanship, as recognized by their coach; essentially an award for character and dedication rather than just statistics.

Criteria for All Academic is to be a junior or senior with a minimum weighted GPA of 3.8. "All Academic" award signifies recognition given to athletes who not only perform well on the track but also maintain a high level of academic achievement.

Chloe Ross Makes Scituate Wrestling History!
Freshman Chloe Ross finishes as the New England runner-up at 126 lbs, making her one of Rhode Island’s highest-placing female wrestlers ever! She dominated her way to the finals with three big wins, including a tech fall in the semifinals.
With three more years ahead, Chloe is just getting started. Congratulations, Chloe! Scituate is proud of you!

8th-grade students created a model where light touched each object! This activity allowed students to determine the properties of light. They learned that light travels in a straight line and that light can be transmitted through, reflected off, or absorbed by objects.
At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, each Feinstein Jr. Scholar received their own individually numbered Feinstein Jr. Scholar Golden Ticket from their school! These Golden Tickets give Jr. Scholars a chance to win money for their school, money for a non-profit of their choice, & other special prizes! Congratulations to sixth grader Valentina! She named St. Jude's Children's Hospital as the nonprofit to receive a $500 donation.
