The Class of 2026 had one final walk through the halls at each one of our Scituate school buildings yesterday. This was an incredibly meaningful moment for our school community. Students were able to reconnect with their elementary and middle school teachers and staff, and our elementary and middle school students had the chance to celebrate with them. We are beyond excited to see what's in store for our graduating class. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
The Class of 2026 enjoyed their Senior Breakfast yesterday morning at Foster Country Club! Students spent the morning signing and looking through their yearbook while relaxing together one last time before graduation.
Field Day 2026 was a huge hit! Thank you to all our parent volunteers for making today so memorable for our students.
Yesterday, our elementary students (soon to be middle school students) had the opportunity to explore Scituate Middle and High School during our middle school Open House! Students were introduced to teachers and staff, played an icebreaker game, and enjoyed touring the school with teachers. We can't wait to see you all in the hallways again in the fall!

This month, two Scituate School Department elementary schools were recognized by the Rhode Island Department of Education - RIDE in partnership with the Rhode Island FC as winners of the Attendance Matters Challenge!
We are thrilled to congratulate both Clayville and Hope Elementary on this exciting achievement! Both schools showed significant improvement in their attendance scores.
Clayville was selected as a week two winner. In the 2025-2026 school year, Clayville improved attendance by 27% from the previous year and showed a 3.7% increase in attendance during the week of May 4th - May 8th.
Hope Elementary was honored as a week three winner and has shown a 6.7% increase in attendance. Both schools have demonstrated among the greatest week-over-week improvements in attendance across Rhode Island elementary schools. This is an incredible accomplishment and a reflection of the strong work and collaboration happening across our families, staff, and community!

On Thursday night, students took part in Goodnight Lights in Providence! Our Spartans stood across from Hasbro Children's Hospital and put on a light show with their flashlights for the children inside.
We are so proud of our Spartans for their performance at our Pops Concert on Wednesday night! Thank you to the families and community members who came out to support our students.

Due to the continued impact of the recent severe weather and ongoing snow removal efforts, all schools and district offices will remain closed on Thursday, February 26 and Friday, February 27, 2026. All after-school activities, athletics, and practices are canceled.
We are working closely with the Town, including Police, Emergency Management, and the Department of Public Works (DPW), to ensure that roads, intersections, and school campuses are fully cleared and safe.
While significant progress has been made, additional time is needed to ensure:
Snow is removed from parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and corners for visibility
Roadways are fully plowed and accessible for buses
Areas without power are stabilized
Emergency vehicles can safely access all school buildings
This coordinated effort ensures not only a safe return for students and staff but also full operational readiness in the event of an emergency.
If your family is experiencing challenges at this time and the school or district can assist in any way, please reach out to your building principal or the district office. We can also help connect families with Town resources and community partners who may provide additional support.
Our goal is to welcome students and staff back on Monday, March 2, provided conditions continue to improve as expected. We will continue to monitor progress in partnership with the Town and provide updates through district communication channels.
